Kathryn Preston has been taking photographs over a period of time. The plan to have a business was established early on, but she wanted to have note cards that made a difference. It was the fateful events of September 11, 2001 that precipitated the timing.

Kathryn, who is a native New Yorker, had many family members and friends who witnessed the attacks from a distance and some who escaped harm. Using photographs taken 2 weeks prior at Tybee Beach, Georgia, note cards were made and sent. They made a huge impact and created an instant demand. Kathryn Preston realizes beyond 9-11-01 people will always have challenges in their lives and long for hope and encouragement. This is the reason The Cloud Series; the initial collection has become the signature series.

The one word that has been repeated time after time when people see the works of RK Originals is "Anointed". It's not just another pretty picture there is more than meets the eye. The evidence of this can be seen in several prints. In "The Breath of God", from The Cloud Series, you can see a man's face, a baby and a cross. Kathryn interprets that to mean God blessed the birth of the business. The face of an Indian, headdress and all is seen in the print taken of a waterfall, Chief Running Water Face from The Tree Series. The most striking display is in the photograph, In the Midst of the Mist from The Collage Series. In the waterfall there is an image of a man outstretched on a cross with a figure kneeling at his feet.

Kathryn envisions herself traveling the world taking photographs but is content for the moment to capture the beauty that surrounds her in her everyday travels and occasional jaunts. She is very excited about the work given to her but takes no credit, to God be the glory.
